Meet the Team
Matthew Foster
Offshore Operations Lead
What does a typical day in your role at AISUS look like and how does your work contribute to AISUS growth & innovation?
A typical day for me as Offshore Operations Lead begins with a review of the previous days work for all live scopes and addressing any issues/problems that may have occurred. From day to day my work can vary from work pack creation, reviewing reports that our engineers have compiled, liaising with clients about past, present and future work scopes and also discussing the results of any inspections that have been carried out.
What’s been the most rewarding/favourite project you’ve worked on so far?
Bit of a sentimental one for me, I would say the scopes that I have been part of on the Brent Charlie and the Cormorant Alpha. This is as my Grandad worked on the Brent Charlie in the 70s and my Dad worked on the Cormorant Alpha in the late 80s/early 90s. It really highlighted to me the amazing feat of engineering that can allow for multiple generations in a family to work on the same asset.
If you could swap roles with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?
One of the Sales Team. As I have progressed from Level 1 Field Engineer to Senior and now onto Operations Lead, I have gained valuable knowledge and experience being involved within different stages of the deliverable work scope, so being a part of the Sales Team would allow for me to experience the scope from the initial stages before it gets passed on to Operations. This would provide me with a more comprehensive understanding of the companies’ various departments.
