#MadeForBusiness: AISUS Apprenticeships Shape Future Talent

Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2025

At AISUS, we believe in investing in the future. Our apprenticeship programme isn’t just about training, it’s about creating opportunities, inspiring innovation, and shaping the next generation in the energy industry.

Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2025 celebrates the theme #MadeForBusiness, and at AISUS, we know our apprentices are exactly that – driven, skilled, and ready to make an impact.

Our apprentices work on cutting-edge inspection projects worldwide, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-tech industry. From offshore platforms in Norway to critical inspections in the Middle East, they’re not just learning, they are leading.

Learning Through Experience: Our Apprentices’ Stories

Dylan’s Journey

“When I left school, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. After completing a mechanical engineering course at college, I secured an apprenticeship with AISUS. Since then, I’ve worked on projects across Norway, Abu Dhabi, and Qatar, constantly facing new challenges that push my growth. AISUS has supported me with additional training in rigging, ultrasonic testing, and rope access, helping me develop both professionally and personally.”

Gregor’s Story

“I originally planned to pursue a degree in sports science but switched to mechanical engineering at college. That decision led me to AISUS, where I’ve had incredible experiences. From camera surveying and ultrasonic data gathering to high-pressure water jetting, every project brings something new. I even worked on AISUS’ longest-ever inspection project – a three-month J-Tube inspection. The offshore opportunities make the job exciting, and I’d highly recommend an apprenticeship to anyone wanting real-world experience without a university degree.”

Why Apprenticeships Matter at AISUS

We value fresh talent that drives new ideas and innovation. Our apprentices don’t just assist -they contribute. Young professionals stepping into the transforming energy industry brings creativity and a willingness to push boundaries.

Our apprentices gain vital qualifications, but more importantly, they develop key skills essential for success. Dylan highlights what he has learned through his apprenticeship:

  • Hands-On Experience: Offshore and onshore experience in real-world inspection projects.
  • Technical Skills: Supporting training in rigging, ultrasonic testing, and high-pressure water jetting.
  • Problem-Solving: Offshore inspections demand quick thinking and adaptability.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Understanding roles and responsibilities is key to safety and efficiency.

Advice for Future Apprentices

“Not sure what’s next after school? Consider a college course that sparks your interest. Not only will you gain a valuable qualification, but you’ll also benefit from expert guidance through college support systems that help shape your path toward a job or apprenticeship.” Dylan

“I highly recommend the apprenticeship scheme as a great way to enter the industry without a university degree. You gain real-world job experience while earning at the same time.”Gregor

At AISUS, our apprentices truly are #MadeForBusiness.
