Meet
Stuart McNab
Regional Business Development Manager – Middle East

What does a typical day in your role at AISUS look like and how does your work contribute to AISUS growth & innovation?
A huge part of my role is being out there talking to people, clients, partners, engineers, operators understanding what they’re doing, where they’re struggling and, most importantly, what their actual pain points are.
Then it’s about taking that problem and thinking: “ How can we do this differently?”
That’s where AISUS is really exciting. We’re not just trying to sell a piece of technology. We’re looking at the problem, applying our technology and our mindset, and finding a smarter, safer and more efficient way of doing things.
There’s a lot of travel, a lot of meetings, a lot of conversations, and probably an unhealthy amount of airport coffee, but I genuinely enjoy it because no two days are the same.
Ultimately, my role is about being the connection between the client’s problem and the solution AISUS can provide. The more problems we understand, the more opportunities we find to innovate, develop new solutions and grow AISUS across the region.

What’s been the most rewarding/ favourite project you’ve worked so far?
I think the most rewarding project for me has been the bespoke pig retrieval project in Qatar. Nothing to do with the monetary value, but all to do with the reputational value.
Working closely with the engineering and R&D team, to provide a completely bespoke solution to our client, for a major time sensitive problem was extremely rewarding.

If you could swap roles with anyone in the company for a day, who would it be and why?
If I could swap roles with anyone in the company for a day, I’d take the role of whoever is leading an offshore project.
I miss the offshore environment, the early starts, the weather doing its best to ruin your day, the banter, the camaraderie and, most importantly, the problem solving. There’s something about having a group of people offshore, limited options and a job that simply has to get done that brings out the best in a team.
