A Decade with AISUS: Promotion to Operations Manager

We are excited to announce the promotion of Paul to Operations Manager, a significant milestone in his remarkable 10-year journey with AISUS.

 

Paul’s story with AISUS began a decade ago when he joined us as a Level Two Technician Apprentice while attending college, eager to start his career in the oil and gas industry. From day one, Paul’s ambitions were evident; he humorously told the team that he was the “gaffer,” starting as an apprentice. Little did we know how foretelling his words would be, as Paul has now come full circle, leading the peers who once laughed alongside him.

Over the years, Paul has steadily risen through the ranks. Guided by his personal motto, “dress for the job you want, not for the job you have,” he advanced from Senior Technician to Team Lead, demonstrating hard work both offshore and onshore. Reflecting on his journey, Paul shared, “from my apprenticeship days to now, I have grown in confidence by leading teams and acquiring supervisory skills.”

When the opportunity for a managerial role arose, Paul was the natural choice. His comprehensive understanding of the business, from the ground up, and his genuine appreciation for the team made him the ideal candidate.

Having started as an apprentice himself, Paul knows firsthand the value of mentorship and development. He has been involved in supporting colleagues around him, like Dylan Aitken, who recently completed his three-year apprenticeship and advanced to Junior Field Engineer. Paul’s dedication to guiding others through the same path he once took highlights his commitment to helping others succeed.

Our leadership team exemplifies this ethos, with key members like Paul who have grown alongside the company, contributing significantly to our success. We take pride in our investment in apprenticeships and internal promotions, which underscores our dedication to recognising and rewarding hard work. Notably, Matthew Foster has ascended to the role of Offshore Lead after five years at AISUS, and Michael Fawcett has been appointed as Project Manager having served a decade of service, both representing our promote-from-within philosophy. This approach has formed our strongest team to date, a testament to the commitment of our employees’ careers at AISUS. Paul’s journey with us illustrates the potential for professional advancement within our ranks. Together, we continue to build a robust foundation for AISUS’s future.

Paul’s transition to Operations Manager has been seamless, driven by the same energy and dedication that defined his early years with AISUS. Over the past decade, Paul has worked hard to earn this role, and his journey from apprentice to Operations Manager is an inspiration.
